Blogmas 2023: Day Twenty One: My 2023 Word Count.

Blogmas Day Twenty One: Alright y'all, so, as ya know, I'm an Author. (I perfer the term "Authoress" to be honest, but whatever). Anywho, I did NaNoWriMo this year, hitting 50,000 words on the 19th of November. (It was my first year and I was very glad at the turnout)!    My full month of November topped out at 86,643.    So far since the 19th of November, I've written 75,332 words.    Since I've never really obsessed over my word or page count other than this challenge, I don't know my exact word count for the year, I'm gonna do some guess work.    In the whole month of November, I wrote 86,000 words. I'm gonna round down to 80,000 and multiply by ten.    Basic multiplication is knowing that 80,000×10 =800,000.    And adding 86,643 brings that total up to 886,643.    And adding 75,332 to 886,643 equals 961,975.    So that gives us an approximate word count and the year ain't even over yet!   ...

NaNoWriMo: A Survivor's Story.

Well y'all, I'm typing this at 11:32 P.M my timezone on November 30th, 2023. It ain't December just yet, but I'd near say it's close enough to call it a month. And some kind of a month it was, too. I started my NaNoWriMo at Midnight on the first and being who I am, decided to bend the rules a might (it started with the fact that I had somewhere around twenty seven WIPs staring at me each and every time I sat down to start planning my NaNoWriMo project). So with that info, I made the executive decision to tie up some loose ends before starting anything really real. On day one, I finished the first book of my series (a Fanfiction I'll be posting to my  Quotev soon) that I started in March and started work on the second book, which has been underway since last September. Finishing off Book One was pretty easy; 42 and a half pages and it was, dare I say, in the books. Book Two was even easier: only twenty five and a half pages. And then on the third, I decided to...

NaNoWriMo: Halfway point check-in.

Hey y'all, it's Ally! So as I've mentioned a couple times before, I'm doing NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month) this year. So as it's the 15th, we're halfway through the month and I decided to make a little post to commemorate it! Th is is my stuff! Word count: 32080. How I've felt about it: great! I've only had a couple days where I truly felt like givin' up. I've got undiagnosed Bipolar Disorder so I'm actually really surprised I've managed to stay on top of it for this long. After I finish, I may crash or I may try to stay with it. It'll be a total and complete toss up I kinda did an untraditional approach, starting the month by finishing up a couple of Novelettes I've been working on for a while and then starting my real project, which is the third book in the series with those two books. Since they're all in the same series, I decided it wasn't really all that different from a real NaNoWriMo novel! All three of ...

How American Girl dolls helped me embrace my love of storytelling.

As I sit here, working on the tenth day of National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo) (and for anyone who, cares I'm about to hit 20,000 words) I think about how exactly I caught the writing bug. It's a crazy story though. I never truly liked to read when I was a kid until I was tweenaged and discovered the American Girl books; they were my wakeup call. I swear to you, I went from "ew, books" to "ooh! Books!" in like two months. I've collected dolls since I was basically a baby; they always have given me some sort of comfort. If they could talk, they'd have a few stories to tell. But since they can't, I've told a few using them as actors and actresses. My dolls, especially the AGs who had their own books and stories to embellish on, got into so much mischief. From the time Rebecca Rubin ran away from home to Kit Kiteredge getting married and having her own little, doll sized wedding, they've all gone through it.   Now that I'm much ol...
