NaNoWriMo: A Survivor's Story.

Well y'all, I'm typing this at 11:32 P.M my timezone on November 30th, 2023. It ain't December just yet, but I'd near say it's close enough to call it a month.

And some kind of a month it was, too.

I started my NaNoWriMo at Midnight on the first and being who I am, decided to bend the rules a might (it started with the fact that I had somewhere around twenty seven WIPs staring at me each and every time I sat down to start planning my NaNoWriMo project). So with that info, I made the executive decision to tie up some loose ends before starting anything really real.

On day one, I finished the first book of my series (a Fanfiction I'll be posting to my Quotev soon) that I started in March and started work on the second book, which has been underway since last September.

Finishing off Book One was pretty easy; 42 and a half pages and it was, dare I say, in the books.

Book Two was even easier: only twenty five and a half pages.

And then on the third, I decided to start on my real project: the third book!

I got out 189 pages on that one and it ain't quite done.

If we count another 78 pages I wrote on different projects during my vacations to keep me from pulling my hair out, we are left with a grand total of 86,643!

I finished my goal on the 19th, eleven days early and simultaneously started working towards my NaNoFinMo (National Novel Finishing Month) goal of 45,000 words. I'm currently at 38,131 on that and will probably finish by Monday. TIME FOR A NEW GOAL!

Before I hop off of here, here's three things I learned from my first NaNoWriMo attempt:

#3: take care of yourself. Hydrate and sleep and don't stress yourself out over daily goals.

#2: hit the ground running. In my first two days, I wrote somewhere upwards of six thosand words. That gave me enough space to breathe and live on days when life happened and I didn't hit that golden 1,667.

#1: have fun with it. Say it with me: IF YOU DON'T HIT A PERFECT 1,667 OR MORE EVERY DAY, PRODUCE LOUISA MAY ALCOTT TIER WRITING AND BE PERFECTLY GRAMMATICALLY CORRECT AND PUNCTUATED, YOU WILL. NOT. DIE. I had to tell myself this four or five times a day as I'm a perfectionist.

Well, it's now 12:09, so it's more than close enough to call it. NANOWRIMO 2023 IS OFFICIALLY OVER! Hope y'all had a great one! Ally signin' out! 😎
