Deep Dives And Reactions: Denim And Rhinestones (Deluxe Edition) by Carrie Underwood (Album Reaction).
Hi! So today I'll be reacting to the Deluxe Tracks of Carrie Underwood's Denim And Rhinestones. My favorite songs from the original cut were Crazy Angels, She Don't Know and Ghost Story.
The original cut got a score of 120, ranking fifth in the list of all the new albums I listened to in 2022.
From the new tracks, I've heard Out Of That Truck, Give Her That and Take Me Out, my favorite being Out Of That Truck.
Since I'm certain I've wasted enough time, let's get started!
Out Of That Truck:
If you've turned on Country radio in the last year-ish, you've probably heard this song. It's good she's getting airplay again, there was a huge drought between Drinking Alone and Ghost Story (which was robbed of much exposure, at least on my station). This song is delectable and will probably be a favorite from now on! 10/10.
Give Her That:
I already spoke about this one in it's very own post here, so to add to that, I think this song is gorgeous and as Carrie said herself when Ghost Story came out, "sometimes the best revenge is moving on". 10/10.
Drunk And Hungover:
Okay, so here's the first song I ain't heard! All I've got to say is, wow... This is really deep... Something I relate to, (who can't)? You're still hung up on that one guy and you want to love again but you just can't because he's still everything to you. (To add to that, you were nothing to him, even when you were together but you hate him for moving on so quickly)... 10/10.
Damage:
Here's the second and final new song. I like this, just like I always like the songs where someone tells that person who always wants them back and always hurt them to cool it. There's something beautiful about knowing your worth and not going back on your standards. 10/10.
Take Me Out:
This one is one I really liked when I first heard it. She played it at The Grand Ole Opry a while ago and she announced it as " A sweet song" which is something it more than definitely is. We don't get a lot of sweet songs from Carrie, most of them are sassy or dramatic (*cough cough* Before He Cheats, Good Girl, Cowboy Casanova, Two Black Cadillacs, Church Bells, etc, etc). I do enjoy this side of her a lot though! 10/10.
She Don't Know (LIVE From The Denim And Rhinestones Tour):
This song is insanely genius, I mean think about it: watching your husband's girlfriend in the grocery store, who thinks of that? And the fact that she isn't even that mad, she leaves and lets the other woman have him knowing that one day she'll be the cheated on wife. Just the whole concept blows my mind! It's also the Countriest song on the record and sounds like it could be the long lost daughter to the Storyteller album, closely related to Dirty Laundry and Chaser. Also, Carrie sounds great live, there's only a handful that you can say that about! 10/10.
