Blogmas 2023: Day Thirty/Day Six Of The Twelve Days Of Christmas: Deep Dives And Reactions: Psychopath by Morgan Wade (Full Album Reaction).

 Blogmas Day Thirty:

Alright y'all, I jumped on the Morgan Wade bandwagon last October and it's been a beautiful ride. I love Reckless and some of my favorite songs are hers.  Nonetheless her current era hasn't been my favorite.
I've never gotten around to listening to the full Psychopath album, so maybe that'll change my thoughts.
I've heard Psychopath since she first played it live and I honestly like it a lot. Back when I first got into her, I found a live video of Phantom Feelings and I've heard a little clip of Alanis.
I've also heard Fall In Love With Me and 80's Movie. I wasn't really impressed by either. (I actually tried to do a reaction on the latter but it was just so, well, not great that I decided not to publish it. I try to follow a "good thing, bad thing, good thing" policy and I couldn't find enough good things about it to not feel complainy).
Out of the songs I ain't heard, I'm claiming Roman Candle as my favorite! That's an interesting title! We'll see what turns out...
   Here we go!
   Domino:
Alright, first thing, this album is WAY more Mainstream than Reckless and I don't know how I feel about that. This song ain't bad, aside from the vocoder thing that's used in the bridge. I usually feel like stuff like that takes away from an otherwise good song, unless there's some reason for it to be used. 8/10.
  80's Movie:
I've already spoke on this one, so I'll keep it brief. This song ain't that bad, it just ain't nothin' to write home about. 5/10.
Losers Look Like Me (Clean Version):
Alright, this one is another mediocre one. The guitar is nice, but other than that, not a lot of "there" there... 1/10.
   Roman Candle:
We have arrived to the song I claimed. Let's see what we think. Not bad, it reminds me a little of When The Dirt All Settles, which if ya know me, ya know is my favorite Morgan Wade song ever (closely followed by Wilder Days and The Night). . think my claiming system worked, this one is good! 10/10.
   Guns And Roses:
This one has a different vibe, one I wasn't planning on hearing. I don't particularly care for it though. 1/10.
   Alanis:
As someone who wonders how Alanis has kept her sanity (but respects her for it), this one is nice. I feel like everyone whose gonna write songs, books, go through a breakup, perform or even live and breathe needs to hear some Alanis every once in a while. I was in the store once and heard Ironic and completely lost my mind... 10/10.
   Phantom Feelings:
If I remember right, she said THE Julia Michaels co-wrote this one. Also, hands up right now, who HASN'T quoted Sylvia Plath for no real reason? Like seriously. I also like how this one ties in with other songs (Left Me Behind due to mentions of her black hair, and Northern Air for the mention of, well, Northern Air). 3/10.
   Psychopath:
I adore this song so much. Can we get more obsessive, beautiful love songs that ain't called something like "Good Grief, You Look Like A Model", please? Like this one? I mean Psychopath doesn't immediately scream " love song" but it is. It's beautiful. "I love you just because, but sayin' “I love you” don't feel like enough" is a lyric I wish I wrote. 10/10.
   Outrun Me:
This is sad, and very cleverly written despite that. I like to believe my exes are still messed up over me. 4/10.
   Want:
This isn't what I was expecting, but I don't know what I was expecting. Yeet... That's about all I'm gonna say about this one. 3/10.
   Fall In Love With Me:
This song, is, well, how to I put this lightly? Terrible. If anyone sees our Morgan, please tell her we want her back and not this mainstream Pop-Country junk. -4/10.
   Meet Somebody (Clean Version):
What. The. Actual. Heck... (I know, I try to keep it clean on here but there are no other words to describe this one). Overproduced so bad. Vocoder, again. Gosh. I have literally no words for this other than it's a hot mess. -20/10.
   27 Club (Clean Version):
Yet another disappointment. Yep. -10/20.
The End:
To conclude, I may be jumping off the Morgan Wade bandwagon just as fast as I jumped on it. Our full album total is 31. It looks like it'll be one of the lowest ranking albums of the year but who knows?
   See y'all. 😎
